The East African province was founded in 1898 at Gare, Tanga Diocese in Tanzania. Then the extension of Zanzibar foundation followed by Arusha and later on the establishment of the community in Kenya founded in 1909 at Bura in Mombasa diocese. Bura was later handed over to the daughter sisters of St Joseph, commonly known as the Bura Sisters in 1925. Later on the CPS opened a house in Nairobi Eastleigh and in 1959 the sisters moved to Riruta community in Dagoretti. Nairobi County.
In the East African province we local congregation that were formed by CPS under the leadership of the local bishops in the dioceses, in Tanzania and Kenya . The Precious Blood sisters were given by the bishops the role of their formation. These congregations are Huruma sister, Usambara, Mogolole. In Kenya we have the sisters of St Joseph.
To date the congregation whose foundation is from South Africa celebrates 129 years of sound evangelization, with over 800 prophetic women of faith. The Precious Blood Missionaries are in in America, Europe and South Korea. Our Generalate is in Rome, where the general superior and her council lives.
In East Africa we are in Tanzania, Zanzibar and Kenya. while South Sudan is managed under the East African province.
